We are very active in fire prevention design and fire prevention, working constantly in compliance with industry regulations as required by Presidential Decree 151/2011.

Fire prevention
design.

Fire safety in public and private buildings is a subject of continuous research and regulatory updates. From the earliest stages of design, Perillo Ingegneria supports architectural, structural and plant design based on specific technical regulations, providing the most efficient and advantageous solutions. The implementation of the fire prevention model within the BIM environment ensures the necessary interdisciplinary coordination and integration.

Administrative
procedures

Fire prevention designers are involved in each project from the initial stages, working in close coordination with the relevant provincial authorities in order to develop shared, functional, and compliant fire safety strategies, resolve specific issues and develop high-performance engineering solutions.

Passive protection
of buildings

An in-depth analysis of the building envelope, combined with the evaluation of structural and architectural components, allows us to identify the most effective passive fire protection strategies. These include the design of fire compartments, the use of REI-rated elements (such as walls, floors, and doors), fire-resistant materials (classified EI), and systems for limiting the spread of smoke and flames, all in accordance with current fire safety regulations.

This aspect is particularly crucial in interventions on existing and historic buildings, where it is essential to preserve the architectural and decorative features of the structures.

Plant
design

Our specialists design active fire protection systems—from detection and alarm setups (smoke, heat, flame sensors) to suppression and extinguishing solutions (sprinkler systems, gaseous suppression)—in full accordance with applicable technical standards and fire safety codes.

Examples of active fire protection systems:

1) Manual Firefighting Systems:
2) Fire Detection and Alarm Systems:
3)Automatic Fire Suppression Systems:

Quantitative and
qualitative
design approach
methods.

The acronym FSE (Fire Safety Engineering) refers to an engineering-based approach that enables the design of fire safety measures tailored to the specific risk profile of a building. It allows for advanced analysis of fire dynamics—including phenomena such as flashover—to develop performance-based solutions where prescriptive codes may not be sufficient.

FSE allows the design team to define the fire protection strategy by establishing safety objectives and expressing them through quantitative performance parameters

Subsequently, through qualitative and quantitative analysis, the fire scenarios for the project will be identified and their effects will be calculated in relation to the design solutions proposed for each activity.
